A great occasion

Gloucester Cathedral was filled with more than 500 people who had come to support their candidate for the new Forest of Dean Verderer or just to watch and take in the pomp and ceremony. The High Sheriff, Lady Bathurst, resplendent in her ostrich feather traditional hat and black gown, and preceded down the long aisle by a scarlet-gowned gentleman bearing  a sword on a cushion, did a great job.

Rich Daniels was elected by a clear majority, so congratulations to Rich!

Forest of Dean Verderer election Wed 15 Feb 2017 11 am Gloucester Cathedral

Nominations recently closed for the vacant Verderer position.
The Court has been in existence for over 800 years. The role is still an influential one and it is important we have active and committed persons as our Verderers.
I understand there are three candidates: information on each will be posted to our website as and when received. The attachment here provides information regarding one candidate, Rich Daniels, including details of free coach transport if required.
The election is on Wed 15 Feb at Gloucester Cathedral at 11 am. You need to be a freeholder of the county of Gloucestershire (except for Gloucester itself) and voting is only in person. Please allow enough time to register your name and address when you arrive.
